1. Eat the rainbow

Eat plenty of crunchy fruits and veggies. Not only healthy for your teeth but will prevent the post sugar slump you get after eating sweets and highly processed carbs.

2. Drink plenty of water

Instead of grabbing a soda or energy drink, grab a water. Not only is water better for your teeth it will keep you hydrated unlike other sugary alternatives.

3. Chocolate vs. Gummies

Although, avoiding sweets altogether is best for our teeth and gums, if given the choice, choose chocolate. Hard and sticky candies can break your teeth, fillings and get stuck in the grooves of your teeth.

4. Choose light colored beverages

Although tempted by red wine and stouts, lighter colored spirits will be less likely to stain your teeth.

5. Snack on Cheese

During the holidays many of us drink alcohol which is very acidic. While sipping on that beverage, you should snack on a pieces of cheese that is alkaline. This will balance out your mouth and keep you from damaging your teeth.

6. Use the proper tool

Teeth function to help you smile, eat, and speak. They are not meant to open bottles or rip something open. Take the extra minute to find that bottle opener or tool instead of potentially damaging those teeth.

7. Maintain good oral hygiene

Make sure you continue to brush and floss. Maintaining your exam and cleaning appointments is especially important.
