In mid-June, I participated in the first Mission of Mercy held in New York State. Dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants from all over the state traveled to Troy, NY to provide free dental work for anyone that came to the clinic. On the day I volunteered, more than 500 patients were treated at Hudson Valley Community College’s gymnasium. Treatment included cleanings, x-rays, restorations, root canals, and extractions.
